Embark on the journey through Scripture as God’s Word for Life begins with a look at foundational Bible passages. The quarter begins at the beginning with a study of Creation, continues with the prophecies of the coming Savior (to begin a study of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ), and concludes with a series on treasured psalms that emphasize practical Christian living. With this aligned exploration of the Bible, all ages can apply God’s Word for Life at home and at church.
SERIES 1: IN THE BEGINNING
This series, “In the Beginning,” will cover four hallmark events found at the beginning of the Bible: Creation, the Fall, Noah’s obedience, and the Tower of Babel. These five lessons will highlight both the majesty of God’s creation and the disobedience of humanity in turning from God. In addition, this series will focus on the message that God’s plan is perfect, and He still offers hope to humanity.
SERIES 2: A VOICE IN THE WILDERNESS
This series, “A Voice in the Wilderness,” will span the Gospels from the birth of John the Baptist to the pivotal moment when John baptized Jesus. Isaiah prophesied a voice would come crying from the wilderness, “Prepare ye the way of the Lord.” John the Baptist was that voice, and his ministry cleared a path for the Messiah, Jesus Christ. This series will help all ages recognize how the prophetic plan of God unfolded through the miraculous births of both John and Jesus.
SERIES 3: PRAISE YE THE LORD
This series, “Praise Ye the Lord,” will look at four of the more recognizable psalms: Psalm 1, Psalm 23, Psalm 51, and Psalm 150. The themes of God’s blessings, mercy, comfort, and power are on full display. With specific applications for each age level, this series will direct churches in applying the principles of walking in righteousness, depending upon our Shepherd, having a clean heart, and praising God.
