Description
James, age fourteen.
Juanita, age thirteen.
Patsy, age ten.
Benjy, age four.
When these four children are orphaned, they overhear that they will be sent to their grandfather, whom they know as a hard and cold man. They decide to run away to flee the fate they fear their future holds at such a terrifying prospect.
Resourceful youngsters they are! They locate a strange lodging and feel themselves well hidden. Then they learn that their grandfather is looking for them. Can they escape him?
How they manage to care for themselves in a challenging world is the crux of the story. Enjoy!
