Zechariah passionately implores the people, “Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope…”
Remember who Zechariah was speaking to: prisoners of war. It was all they had ever known. However on this day Zechariah would not refer to them as prisoners of war, or prisoners of Babylon... they were prisoners of hope.
In spite of every failure, every heartache, and every loss, the people had hope.
More accurately... Hope had them.
