We came to our city ready to have revival and build a growing church. We thought we knew what to do and with God on our side we would be unstoppable. Then after years of disappointment, losing people so many times, our daughter backsliding then running away from home, our son’s faith getting rattled, and our own faith broken. Something had to give. We thought if you did it right, raised your kids right, and stayed faithful you were guaranteed revival. After it did not happen and seeing our marriage suffer, our family suffer, and ourselves suffer we thought it was time to quit. We met with our pastor and thought this was the end. During the meeting God spoke this word:
Luke 13:8-9
8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: 9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
