Winter 2023–2024 overview
Through God’s Word for Life, we will kneel with Isaiah as he sees God for who He is: He is holy. We will stand courageously with Old Testament heroes and heroines like Ruth, Daniel, and Esther to see God for who He is: He is faithful. And we will stand with twelve scared-to-death disciples in a storm-tossed boat as Jesus calms the sea—once by speaking to it, once by walking on it. Then we will hear the altar call Jesus gives to follow Him just because of who He is: the Bread of Life.
Series 1: God’s Holiness . . . And Ours
The life of holiness is rooted in our communion with God and forms the foundation of our fellowship with other believers as well as our mission of witness to non-believers. This series helps to demonstrate that holiness, properly understood, is not just a beneficial “addition” to our salvation but the core of what it means to be saved.
Series 2: God Is Faithful
This series highlights God’s faithfulness through four Old Testament stories. God faithfully provided for two women of faith, Ruth and Esther, when both of them were filled with many questions and few answers. God also faithfully reached for Nineveh when Jonah preached, and God faithfully stood with Daniel when Daniel stood for God.
Series 3: The Bread of Life
In this series, Jesus first stopped at a pool of water in Bethesda and healed a man who had been lame for thirty-eight years. Once he stood up to walk away, Jesus walked toward a multitude who was hungry for bread and the bread of life. Miraculously, Jesus fed a city full of people with a sack lunch, then He fed their souls the Word of God. After their meal, Jesus walked on water to rescue His scared-to-death disciples, yet after all that evidence of His divinity, the crowd still rejected Him as their Messiah.
