Denzil and Freida Richardson, veteran missionaries, arrived in Madagascar in June 1969 to pioneer the United Pentecostal Church of Madagascar. You will alternately weep and rejoice with Freida as she relives her experiences of learning to cope and exist in a strange land and communicate in another language. You will read about how the church grew from 14 persons in the first service to more than 180 churches through the blessings and power of the Holy Spirit, not only in their lives but in the lives of others.
They served as superintendent of the work until 1981, when after 20 years of missionary service, they returned to the homeland because of ill health.
Upon their leaving, their sons, missionaries Jerry and Randy Richardson assumed the leadership of the work, with Jerry as the superintendent. The Lloyd Scott family later joined them as missionaries, followed by the David Flowers family. The work continues to grow and prosper under their direction.
