Synopsis: Compassion is defined as a deep awareness of another’s suffering coupled with the wish to relieve it. Numerous times in scripture, Jesus is recorded as having compassion on those suffering from sickness, death, demon possession, and persecution. In fact, many times he is described at the very sight of these instances as being “moved with compassion” throughout scripture. God’s main desire for your life is salvation, but because He loves us, he is compassionate about our needs and expects us to behave this way toward others.
